Western State Hospital Building 29 

Integrated Design Engineers (idE) worked with the Washington Department of Enterprise Services in their initiative to remodel the campus of the one of the largest inpatient psychiatric hospitals west of the Mississippi, Western State Hospital, located in Lakewood, WA. Working alongside NAC-Architecture, idE's award-winning engineers provided structural engineering guidance to remodel Building #29 of the hospital. The building's C-Wing encompassed an existing two-story structure that was transformed into a new forensic ward that included two new staircase. The D-Wing portion of the building was remodeled into a new recovery ward, that included a new gymnasium as well. This project allowed the Western State Hospital to continue as a significant healthcare facility for the State of Washington and the region.
