San Diego Bayfront SpringHill Suites & Residence Inn
Welcome to the North Embarcadero, home to a stunning dual-branded hotel featuring 253 keys at Marriot SpringHill Suites and 147 keys at the Residence Inn. This exceptional destination meets San Diego's growing demand for select-service hotels that offer a refined aesthetic.
Located next to the USS Midway Museum, the hotel boasts 27,000 square feet of retail space and floor-to-ceiling windows in each guest room, providing breathtaking views of the bay. Notably, also featured is the public art installation "Ripples" by artist David Franklin, a stunning sculpture composed of 643 individually cut aluminum fins, inspired by maritime tide charts.
As the engineer of record, Integrated Design Engineers (idE) developed the building's innovative post-tensioned concrete floor framing, supported by concrete columns and shear walls. To accommodate the waterfront location, we implemented a robust pile foundation, ensuring stability over the liquefiable soil below.
