University of Washington Gutherie Annex II Structural Assessment & Repair Recommendations
When the University of Washington noticed cracked wood joints in their Gutherie Annex II building, they hired Integrated Design Engineers to investigate how those cracks would affect the safety of the structure and any future mechanical/electrical work in the building. The cracked joists were temporarily supported by supports, designed and built by the UW maintenance service group.
To solve the structural concerns, Integrated Design Engineers proposed three steps to permanently repair the first floor framing. Our structural assessment and recommendations were then used by a general contractor to execute the repairs.
