Seattle City Light South Rectifier Station Building "G" Structural Assessment
Seattle City Light hired Integrated Design Engineers to evaluate the overall safety and condition of the concrete floor slab of Building G at Seattle City Light's South Rectifier Station.
Through assessment, we discovered differential soil settlement had caused the concrete floor to sag, leaving numerous visible cracks on the interior walls. The soil under the building's steel canopy had also settled, causing the columns to lean away from the building.
To fix these structural issues and bring the structure up to seismic standards, we provided multiple recommended alternatives that included both temporary and permanent fixes with cost estimates.
